ウエスタンデジタル、四日市市で発生した停電と四日市工場への影響に関するコメント
ウェーハ供給に対する主な影響は、2020年会計年度の第一四半期を想定
ウエスタンデジタルコーポレーション（以下、ウエスタンデジタル）は本日、日本時間6月15日(土)に予期せぬ停電が四日市市に発生し、東芝メモリ株式会社（以下、東芝メモリ）と共同運営するフラッシュ生産工場への影響が発生していることを発表しました。停電によりファシリティならびにプロセス設備が影響を受けており、ウエスタンデジタルは東芝メモリとともにできるだけ早い通常稼働への復旧を目指しています。
ウエスタンデジタルは本事象にかかわる影響を精査していますが、現時点では約6エクサバイトのフラッシュウェーハ供給が減ると予測しています。影響が出るのは主に2020年会計年度の第一四半期と想定しています。
