SAN DIEGO / TOKYO - World Trade Center San Diego (WTCSD), together with San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and U.S. Congressman Scott Peters, will lead a delegation of more than 40 senior government officials, industry executives, civic leaders, and academics on a trade mission to Japan in September 2026. During visits to Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka, the delegation will pursue investment and business partnerships in defense and dual-use technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, fusion energy, life sciences, and maritime industries. The mission will also support major employers, open new opportunities for growing companies, and strengthen ties between the San Diego-Tijuana region and Japan.
A centerpiece of the mission will be the San Diego-Japan Investment Summit at the Tokyo American Club. The program will feature remarks from civic and business leaders, an overview of San Diego's innovation economy, and focused presentations on investment and partnership opportunities. A networking reception will connect the San Diego delegation with Japanese executives and investors seeking opportunities in California and the broader U.S. market.
