As the Shichi-Go-San season approaches, families across Japan are beginning to prepare for this important celebration.

In recent years, however, many families have found themselves traveling between kimono rentals, hair salons, photography studios, and shrine visits, turning what should be a joyful occasion into a busy day from morning to evening.

Against this backdrop, a new style of celebrating Shichi-Go-San is gaining attention in Ise, Mie Prefecture—bringing kimono, photography, and shrine visits together in one seamless experience.

Just 1 Minute from Sarutahiko Shrine

One example is Torch Sarutahiko Shrine Studio, located just a one-minute walk from Sarutahiko Shrine.

While created primarily for families in Japan, we also warmly welcome international visitors who wish to experience this traditional celebration.

Families can enjoy kimono rental, professional dressing, hair styling, studio photography, and a shrine visit all in one place, making the experience easy and stress-free, even for families with young children.

After the photo session, families can simply walk to Sarutahiko Shrine while still dressed in their kimono.

The studio is also just a 10-minute walk from Ise Jingu (Naiku) and Okage Yokocho, making it easy to combine a Shichi-Go-San celebration with sightseeing in one memorable day.

Celebrate Shichi-Go-San All Year Round

Shichi-Go-San isn't just an autumn tradition.

In recent years, many families have chosen spring photo sessions to enjoy a more relaxed experience away from the seasonal crowds.

In January, families often visit Ise Jingu or Sarutahiko Shrine in kimono for their first shrine visit of the New Year.

From February to March, many celebrate Hatsuzekku (a child's first seasonal festival) or enjoy cherry blossom outings in kimono.

From April to May, the fresh greenery creates a beautiful setting for outdoor photo sessions around Ise Jingu with one of our photographers.

During the summer, we also offer seasonal promotions and limited-time events.

Autumn is the peak Shichi-Go-San season, and the shrines and surrounding areas become especially busy.

For this reason, more and more families are choosing to celebrate in spring or summer, when they can enjoy a slower, more relaxed experience.

Kimono rental is also available on its own.
