ダイバーシティ＆ヘルスケア領域での研究開発と事業化に取り組むピクシーダストテクノロジーズ株式会社（本社：千代田区）は、当社代表取締役CEO落合陽一が、世界を代表する政治家や実業家が一堂に会するダボス会議を主催する世界経済フォーラムの2022年度「ヤング・グローバル・リーダーズ（以下「YGL」）」に選出されたことをお知らせします。

• YGLについて

YGLは、ビジネスのイノベーター、起業家、テクノロジーのパイオニア、教育者、活動家、アーティスト、ジャーナリストなど、様々な専門分野における実績や今後世界の舞台で活躍が期待される40歳以下の人物を毎年世界各地から約100名選出しています。2022年度のYGLには42カ国109名、日本からは落合を含め3名が選出されました。

2015年東京大学学際情報学府博士課程修了 (学際情報学府初の短縮終了)。博士 (学際情報学)。日本学術振興会特別研究員DC1、米国Microsoft ResearchでのResearch Internなどを経て、2015年から筑波大学図書館情報メディア系助教デジタルネイチャー研究室主宰。2017年から当社と筑波大学の特別共同研究事業「デジタルネイチャー推進戦略研究基盤」を筑波大学内に設立、准教授として着任。 専門はCG、HCI、VR、視・聴・触覚提示法、デジタルファブリケーション、自動運転や身体制御。World Technology Award 2015 (IT Hardware) ほか受賞歴多数。

Dr. Ochiai, Representative Director and CEO of Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. elected as one of Young Global Leaders 2022 by World Economic Forum

 

Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc., who is working on R&D and seeking opportunities for commercialization in the area of healthcare & diversity (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter “PxDT”) announced that PxDT’s representative director and CEO, Dr. Yoichi Ochiai, has been elected as one of Young Global Leaders 2022 (hereinafter “YGL”) by World Economic Forum which hosts Davos Forum where politicians and businesspeople representing the world meet up.

 

YGL has been electing 100 people aged 40 or younger throughout the world every year, such as business innovators, entrepreneurs, technological pioneers, educators, activists, artists, journalists, and so on, who have made proven achievements in a wide range of expertise and are expected to play a leading role in the global scale. In 2022, a total of 109 people from 42 countries have been elected as YGL, of which 3 people, including Dr. Ochiai, are from Japan.

■Yoihi Ochiai

Representative Director, CEO of Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. (PxDT)
PxDT co-founder / Ph.D. (Applied Computer Science)Born in 1987. Completion of doctoral course at the University of Tokyo in 2015 for 2 years (the fastest record in Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, the University of Tokyo). After JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists DC1 and Research Intern at Microsoft Research in the US, he established Digital Nature Laboratory as Assistant Professor of Library and Information Media, University of Tsukuba in 2015. On December 2017, PxDT founded Strategic Research Platform towards Digital Nature in University of Tsukuba and appointed him as Director. Simultaneously, he became Associate Professor at University of Tsukuba.
Interests on CG, HCI, VR, visual/auditory/ haptic presentation method, digital fabrication, automatic driving and human control. His papers were published in top conferences of graphics and HCI such as ACM SIGGRAPH, CHI, and UIST.
Won numerous awards and received numerous honors. In 2015, at the age of 28, he received the World Technology Award 2015 (IT Hardware) from the US WTN*. He is the second Japanese winner following Shuji Nakamura who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2014. He was also selected in Innovators Under 35 Japan 2020 by MIT Technology Review and Future 50 by Project Manage Institute. At SEMICON Japan, a large-scale conference of semiconductor technology, he is the youngest ever keynote speaker in its 40-year history.
