“Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS”認証コーデック追加とヘッドホン製品の“Hi-Res AUDIO”ロゴおよび“Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELSS”ロゴ規格を改定

一般社団法人日本オーディオ協会（所在地：東京都港区、会長：小川理子）は、当協会がライセンスをおこなっている“Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS”ロゴの認証コーデックとして、以下のコーデックを新たに追加したことをお知らせいたします。

Opus HD　（Google LLC）

TWS（完全ワイヤレスステレオ）に代表されるワイヤレスイヤホンとともに、Bluetoorh®では、Bluetooth Low Energy（BLE）の普及も進んでいます。これらスマートフォンやデジタルオーディオプレーヤーと、ヘッドホン/イヤホンや小型のスピーカーとをワイヤレス接続して音楽を楽しむスタイルはますます広がりを見せており、このたびBLEにも対応した“Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS”認証コーデックとして、Opus HDを追加することになりました。機器を製造・販売するライセンシー企業にとっては、採用するコーデックの選択肢が増え、高音質で音楽を楽しむ“Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS”ロゴ対象製品の市場拡大が期待されます。なお、“Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS”ロゴの対象製品は、認証コーデックを用いるだけでなく、ワイヤレス接続以外については、“Hi-Res AUDIO”ロゴの規格を満たす必要があります。

また近年、ヘッドホン/イヤホン製品について多様な形態・装着方法の製品が広まっていますが、この状況下において、日本オーディオ協会は高域のみならず低域側の性能も重視し、このたびヘッドホン/イヤホン製品に対して“Hi-Res AUDIO”ロゴおよび“Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS”ロゴの製品認証規格の改定を行います。

改定の骨子

IEC 60268-7に則り、“Hi-Res AUDIO”ロゴおよび“Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS”ロゴ規格にもヘッドホン/イヤホン製品の低域限界周波数を新たに定めます。

なお、本規定は2026年7月15日より発効し、1年間の経過措置期間を設けます。

Japan Audio Society ［JAS］ (Tokyo, Japan ; Chairperson: Michiko Ogawa) announces the addition of the following codec as certified codec for “Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS” logo licensed by JAS.

Alongside wireless earphones—exemplified by TWS (True Wireless Stereo) models—Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is also seeing widespread adoption within the Bluetooth®. As the practice of wirelessly connecting smartphones and digital audio players to headphones/earphones, and compact speakers to enjoy music continues to grow, Opus HD has now been added as "Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS" certified codecs that support BLE. For licensee companies that manufacture and sell these devices, this expands the range of codec options available, fostering expectations for market growth in "Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS" certified products that deliver high-quality audio experiences.

Products eligible for the "Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS" logo must not only use certified codecs but also meet the standards for the "Hi-Res AUDIO" logo regarding aspects other than the wireless connection.

In recent years, a wide variety of headphone and earphone products featuring diverse form factors and wearing styles have become widespread; amidst this trend, the JAS places importance on performance in the lower-frequency range as well as the upper-frequency range. Consequently, the JAS is revising the product certification standards for the "Hi-Res AUDIO" and "Hi-Res Audio WIRELESS" logos applicable to headphones and earphones.

Outline of the Revision

In accordance with IEC 60268-7(2025 Release or later), lower limiting frequency requirements for headphones and earphones are being established for the “Hi-Res AUDIO” and “Hi-Res AUDIO WIRELESS” logo specifications.

These regulations shall come into effect on July 15, 2026, and a one-year grace period shall be provided.
