那須塩原から世界を変える。アジア学院、2026年度「農村指導者養成プログラム」が始動。世界13カ国から集まった22名のリーダーたちが、持続可能な未来への学びを開始。

学校法人アジア学院は、世界各地から招いた草の根の農村指導者を迎え、2026年度の「農村指導者養成プログラム」をスタートしました。

本年度はアジア、アフリカ計13カ国から、22名の研修生が参加。約9ヶ月間にわたり、有機農業、学びのコミュニティ、サーバントリーダーシップを実践で学びます。「共に生きるために（That We May Live Together）」をモットーに、栃木の地で育まれる持続可能な社会への取り組みが、今年も本格的にスタートします。

アジア学院は1973年の創立以来、一貫して「食」を基盤としたコミュニティリーダーの育成を行ってきました。2026年度、世界情勢が複雑化する中で、食料主権と平和的な共生の重要性はかつてないほど高まっています。

1. 多様な背景を持つリーダーたちが集結

今年度も学生の背景は、自国のNGO職員、教員、農業普及員など多岐にわたります。彼らは単なる学生ではなく、帰国後に自身のコミュニティを牽引する「変革の担い手」です。

2. 循環型農業を通じた「生きた学び」

研修の柱のひとつは、アジア学院が長年実践してきた有機農業技術です。那須塩原の豊かな自然の中で、学生たちは自らの手で食を生産し、コミュニティのあり方を模索します。

3. 「Foodlife Work」：労働と生活が一体となった研修

学院では「食べること」「生きること」「働くこと」を切り離さず、一つのサイクルとして捉えています。多国籍なメンバーが一つのコミュニティで生活を共にし、言語や文化の壁を越えて対話を行うプロセスそのものが、平和構築のトレーニングとなります。

アジア、アフリカ、中南米などの農村地域から、その土地に根ざして活動する農村指導者を招き、有機農業を中心とした持続可能な開発とリーダーシップのトレーニングを行う研修機関です。これまでに60カ国以上、1,400名を超える卒業生を輩出しています。

This year, 22 participants from 13 countries across Asia and Africa have joined the program. Over the course of approximately nine months, they will engage in practical learning focused on organic farming, the learning community, and servant leadership.

Under the motto "That We May Live Together," our initiative to build a sustainable society—rooted in the soil of Tochigi—begins in earnest once again this year.

Since its founding in 1973, the Asian Rural Institute (ARI) has consistently dedicated itself to nurturing community leaders with "food" as the fundamental core. In 2026, as the global climate grows increasingly complex, the importance of food sovereignty and peaceful coexistence has never been greater.

1. A Gathering of Leaders with Diverse Backgrounds

This year’s participants come from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including NGO staff, educators, and agricultural extension workers in their respective home countries. They are more than just students; they are "change agents" who will lead and transform their communities upon their return.

2. "Living Learning" through Circular Agriculture

A cornerstone of the training is the organic farming technology that ARI has practiced and refined for decades. Within the rich natural environment of Nasushiobara, participants produce their own food by hand, exploring the essential nature of what a community can and should be.

3. "Foodlife Work": Integrating Labor and Daily Life

At ARI, we do not separate "eating," "living," and "working"; instead, we view them as a single, interconnected cycle. The very process of multinational members living together in one community—engaging in dialogue that transcends language and cultural barriers—serves as fundamental training in peacebuilding.
