【English is below】ライフスタイルホテル THE KNOTは、8/2（土）３（日）両日13:00～街を楽しむためにデザインされた自転車「トーキョーバイク」に乗って西新宿周辺のビル群を撮影するフォトライドを開催します。

ガイドを務めるのは西新宿を撮ることをライフワークとして活躍中のプロフォトグラファー坂田智彦さん。
西新宿のビル群にしか見ることのできない"ブルー"を撮り続けています。
訪れる時間帯や天気、日の当たり方によって刻一刻と姿を変え続ける景色を写真で切り取りましょう。
お昼頃から夕方にかけての西日に照らされるビル群は光の反射と影で青く光っています。

使用するカメラは何でも構いません。デジタル一眼レフでもよし、コンパクトデジカメでもよし、もちろんIphoneでも。プロのフォトグラファーからレクチャーを受けながら自分の目線で、自分だけのブルーを撮影しましょう。いい写真はカメラの機能によって出来上がるわけではありません！玄人も初心者もどちらも大歓迎のイベントです。

最後はMORETHAN TEA STANDによるドリンクを楽しみながら、参加者全員で撮った写真をレビューします。

A special ride designed to enjoy the city through photography.
The guide is special guest, Tomohiko Sakata, who has been a resident of the Nishi-Shinjuku area for many years. His speciality subject matter is “blue” which can only be seen on the buildings here.
The buildings that are illuminated from the west glow blue in the early afternoon hours, due to unusual light reflection and shadow. Even then, depending on the time, the weather, and the light conditions, the photos you take here will vary hugely.
You will need to bring your own camera, be it a digital SLR camera, a compact digital camera, or, of course, a phone. Discover your own blue style while receiving guidance from a professional photographer. Good photos don’t just come from a good camera.
All levels of photography skill are welcome!
Finally, we will gather at THE KNOT to review the day’s photographs.
It is recommended to book early as there are only eight spots per each session.

THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku

集合・スタート地点は新宿中央公園前にあるライフスタイルホテル、THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku。（以下THE KNOT）THE KNOTでは宿泊の有無に関わらず、どなたでもトーキョーバイクの自転車をレンタルできます。

The meeting point will be the lifestyle hotel right near Shinjuku Central Park, THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku (THE KNOT). At THE KNOT, you can rent the bikes even if you are not a staying guest.

自転車のフィッティングとトーキョーバイクスタッフからの交通ルールの説明後、坂田さんオススメのフォトスポットへと向かいます。

After matching everyone with a bike and explaining the traffic rules, we will head to the first recommended photo spot of Sakata-san.

1つ目のスポットに到着後、自転車を降りて歩きで周辺を巡ります。
After arriving at the first spot, we will park the bikes and walk around the area to shoot.

ひとたび坂田さんの説明を聞くと、新宿のビル群が最高の被写体に。
Sakata-san will explain how he initially became fascinated by the buildings in Shinjuku.

1つめのスポットが終わったら次のスポットへ。スポットは当日のお楽しみ。
無機質な高層ビルと緑生い茂る西新宿を自転車で駆け抜けるのはとても気持ちのいい体験です。
グループライドは1人で走るのとは違う楽しさがあります！（こちらは以前のイベントの時の様子）
When were are done with spot one, we will move on to spot two. This spot takes us through an iconic skyscraper scene of Shinjuku: it will be interesting to experience these two quite different areas. Group rides also bring a unique element to cycling and is much better than going alone! (This is a picture of the previous event)

2つめのスポットでの撮影が終了したらTHE KNOTに戻ります。当日撮影した写真の中からお気に入りの写真を数枚セレクト。完了したら参加者全員でMORETHAN TEA STANDの紅茶で乾いたのどを潤しながら、写真をレビュー、それぞれが見つけた目線を一緒に見てみましょう。前回行ったLOMORIDE!の際のレビューの様子です。

When we have finished shooting at the second spot, we will return to THE KNOT.　Here, we will select a few favourite shots from the day, we will review the photos together and see what each other discovered. This image is from the review of a previous photo ride, LOMORIDE!

お腹が減ったらTHE KNOTに併設するMORETHAN BAKERYで軽食を買ってもいいですね。
You can buy snacks at MORETHAN BAKERY which is inside THE KNOT if you are peckish.

全員の写真をレビュー後、イベントは終了。
イベント終了後もTHE KNOTのラウンジで参加者の皆さんと1日のことをお話ししたり、1階にあるバーで1杯飲んで行くのもおススメです。
After the event is over, feel free to hang out at THE KNOT, talking about the ride or getting a drink at our café and bar.

About 坂田智彦さん

坂田智彦氏／Tomohiko Sakata

1978年熊本県生まれ。熊本学園大学経済学部経済学科を卒業後、東京工芸大学芸術別科にて写真を学ぶ。都内スタジオ勤務を経て、2007年独立。 2009年よりTALBOT.としての活動を開始する。企業広告やファッションの分野で活動し、主に世田谷パブリックシアターや東京芸術劇場等の舞台の広告を担当、舞台役者のポートレート撮影に多く携わる。 2018年、オフィスビルが立ち並ぶ西新宿を独自の視点で切り取り、
『 THIS BLUE 』シリーズとしてポスター展を開催。
自身のアイコンである『 BLUE 』を確立させる。次回個展に向け、変わり続ける西新宿を拠点として現在も写真を撮り続けている。

About Tomohiko Sakata
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1978. After graduating from Kumamoto Gakuen University Faculty of Economics, he studied photography in an Art Special Course at Tokyo Polytechnic University. After working in a Tokyo studio, he went solo in 2007, starting projects as TALBOT. While active in the field of corporate advertising and fashion, his main stream of work is advertising for the arts. For companies such as the Setagaya Public Theater and Tokyo Art Theater, he is mostly involved in portrait photography of the stage performers. In 2018, he begun to explore an unknown side of office building-lined Nishi-Shinjuku. Soon after, he held a poster exhibition labelled "This Blue".
For his next solo show, he is still taking photos of the ever-changing Nishi-Shinjuku.
