Space Aviation株式会社（本社：京都市伏見区、読み：スペースアビエーション、代表取締役社長：保田 晃宏）は2025年4月28日より、ヘリコプターで京都・大阪と宇野港を結ぶ『宇野港チャーター便』の運航を開始いたします。京都・大阪から直島行きのフェリー乗り場「宇野港」まで所要約3時間のところ、片道最短約50分に短縮ができ、直島のほか犬島、豊島など瀬戸内の島々へ快適な移動が可能となります。
現代アート作品が点在する直島町は2024年に約75万人の観光客に達し、2025年は今月18日に開幕した現代アートの祭典「瀬戸内国際芸術祭」により、国内外ともにアート目的の観光客がさらに急増することが予想されています。そのためヘリコプターの二次交通として利用が多いハイヤー予約は、直島内では極めて困難のため、当社では京都・大阪から瀬戸内の主要港・宇野港近接の「岡山・瀬戸内温泉たまの湯場外離発着場」を発着地としたチャーター便を新しく販売いたします。「瀬戸内国際芸術祭」の会場となる瀬戸内の島々へのシームレスな移動とともに、プライベートな空間をご提供いたします。

Fastest 50-minute flight to Naoshima, a modern art island in the Seto Inland Sea
-New Helicopter Charter Flights Now Connect Kyoto/Osaka with Uno Port-
Space Aviation Inc. (Headquarters: Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City; President & CEO: Akihiro Yasuda) will launch the "Naoshima Charter Flight" on April 28, 2025, offering helicopter transportation connecting Kyoto and Osaka with Uno Port. Passengers can now travel from Kyoto or Osaka to Uno Port, the ferry terminal for Naoshima, in the shortest one-way time of approximately 50 minutes instead of the three hours required to get there from Kyoto or Osaka. In addition to Naoshima, the new service also provides comfortable access to other islands in the Seto Inland Sea, such as Inujima and Teshima.
Naoshima, a town dotted with contemporary art installations, welcomed approximately 750,000 visitors in 2024. With the opening of the Setouchi Triennale—an international contemporary art festival—on April 18, 2025, the number of art-focused visitors from both Japan and abroad is expected to surge even further.
Due to this growing demand, securing chauffeur-driven car services (a common mode of secondary transport following helicopter travel) has become extremely difficult on the island. In response, Space Aviation will now offer charter flights connecting to the "Okayama Seto-uchi Onsen Tamano-yuHeliport," located near Uno Port—one of the region’s major gateways to Setouchi.
This new service ensures seamless travel to the Setouchi islands, which serve as venues for the Setouchi Triennale, while also providing a private and comfortable flying experience.
