NanoFrontier、ベトナム・スタートアップ加速プログラム「NIC Scale X」に採択

有機ナノ粒子技術を活用したクリーンエネルギー・環境テック領域でのベトナム事業展開を加速

NanoFrontier株式会社（本社：宮城県仙台市、代表取締役：井上 誠也、以下「NanoFrontier」）は、日本政府の資金提供のもと、ベトナム国家イノベーションセンター（NIC）とUNDP（国連開発計画）が共同運営し、三菱総合研究所・Plug and Play APACが実施パートナーを務めるスタートアップ加速プログラム「NIC Scale X」に採択されたことをお知らせいたします。

本プログラムは、ベトナム・ホアラックの「ベトナム－日本イノベーションハブ」を拠点に、スタートアップと投資家・企業・大学・政策立案者をつなぎ、ベトナムと日本の間のクロスボーダー連携と市場開拓を支援するものです。NanoFrontierは本採択を通じて、東北大学発の有機ナノ粒子技術のベトナム市場への実装・商業化を本格的に推進してまいります。

採択の背景 

NanoFrontierは、2025年4月に東北大学発スタートアップとして設立されたディープテック企業です。東北大学で30年以上にわたって研究・発展させてきたナノ粒子生成技術を基盤に、従来は製薬分野に限られていたバッチ処理・小ロット生産を、連続フロープロセスによるスケーラブルな量産体制へと発展させてきました。現在は、PFAS検出・蓄電池・液浸冷却剤・水素触媒・医薬品の5領域にまたがるナノ粒子ソリューションを開発しています。

特に蓄電池領域では、有機ナノ粒子を電解質として活用することで、従来のバナジウムレドックスフロー電池が抱えていた高コスト・腐食・レアメタル依存という課題を解決する次世代電池の開発に取り組んでいます。バナジウムや高価なNafion膜を不要とし、設備投資コスト（CAPEX）を65%以上削減できるとの試算があります。

ベトナムでは2030年に向けて蓄電容量目標を300MWから最大16.3GWへと大幅に引き上げており、再生可能エネルギーの安定化に向けた長時間蓄電（LDES）ソリューションの需要が急拡大しています。本採択を機に市場参入を本格化させます。

今後の取り組み

NanoFrontierは、本プログラムへの参加を通じて以下を優先的に推進します。

ベトナム事業の立ち上げ 

現地エネルギー事業者・電力会社・産業パークとの顧客検証（PoC）・商談を加速し、OEM・EPC各社とのサプライチェーン構築を進めます。

投資家・パートナーネットワークの構築 

Plug and PlayのVC・コーポレートネットワークを活用したシンガポール・日本への現地視察（UNDP資金提供）やデモデイへの登壇を通じ、東南アジア市場での資金調達・事業連携の機会を拡大します。

NIC Scale X Accelerator Programについて 

NIC Scale Xは、日本政府の資金提供のもと、ベトナム国家イノベーションセンター（NIC）とUNDPが共同運営し、三菱総合研究所・Plug and Play APACが実施パートナーを務めるスタートアップ加速プログラムです。ベトナム・ホアラックの「ベトナム－日本イノベーションハブ」を拠点に、ヘルスケア・クリーンエネルギー（ESG）・環境テック・スマートファクトリー・アグリテック・IoT・クラウドインフラを重点分野とし、13週間（2026年5月18日〜8月10日）にわたってアーリーステージのスタートアップを支援します。

採択スタートアップには、NICホアラックのオフィス・共同研究施設の利用と三菱総研による事業開発コンサルティング、Plug and Playを通じた専門家によるメンタリングとVC紹介、シンガポール・日本への海外視察ツアー（UNDP資金提供）、Google Cloud・Microsoft for Startupsなどのクラウドクレジット、投資家との面談機会やデモデイへの登壇などが提供されます。

NanoFrontier Selected for NIC Scale X,  Startup Acceleration Program in Vietnam

NanoFrontier Inc. (Headquarters: Sendai, Miyagi, Japan; CEO: Seiya Inoue) is pleased to announce its selection for "NIC Scale X," a startup acceleration program funded by the Government of Japan and co-managed by the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC) and UNDP, with Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI) and Plug and Play APAC as implementing partners.

Anchored at the Vietnam–Japan Innovation Hub at NIC Hoa Lac, the program connects startups with investors, corporate partners, academia, and policymakers to unlock scale, market access, and cross-border collaboration between Vietnam and Japan. NanoFrontier will leverage this program to advance the commercial deployment of its organic nanoparticle technology in Vietnam.

Background of Selection

NanoFrontier is a deep-tech startup spun out from Tohoku University in April 2025, built on over 30 years of nanoparticle research. The company has transformed its core organic nanoparticle synthesis technology beyond pharmaceuticals into five domains: PFAS detection, next-generation batteries, data-center immersion coolants, hydrogen transport catalysts, and nano-prodrugs for cancer treatment.

In the battery domain, NanoFrontier is developing an organic nano-electrolyte-based redox flow battery that eliminates the need for vanadium and expensive Nafion membranes, targeting a CAPEX reduction of over 65%. Vietnam, which has raised its national energy storage target from 300 MW to 10–16.3 GW by 2030, represents one of the most promising markets for this technology. Future Initiatives Through this program, NanoFrontier will accelerate its business development efforts in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia.
