Shisa株式会社（本社：東京都港区）は、7月21日、経済産業省および国立研究開発法人新エネルギー・産業技術総合開発機構（NEDO）が推進する「GENIAC-PRIZE」において、国産基盤モデル事業者リストに掲載されたことをお知らせいたします。

GENIAC-PRIZEの社会実装部門に応募する企業は、国内で開発された基盤モデルを利用することが応募要件となっています。

同リストには日本国内の大手企業を含む21の事業者が掲載されており、応募企業は社会実装部門における開発・実証プロジェクトの基盤モデルとしてShisa.AIを選択することが可能となりました。

今回の掲載は、Shisa株式会社が単なるアプリケーションやAPIの提供企業ではなく、日本国内で日本語に特化した独自の基盤モデルを開発する企業であることを示すものです。

GENIAC-PRIZE applicants can now use Shisa.AI’s Japanese-focused models in qualifying development and demonstration projects.

Tokyo, Japan - July 21, 2026 - Shisa.AI has been added to the official GENIAC-PRIZE list of eligible domestic foundation model developers, published by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and NEDO.

Companies competing in GENIAC-PRIZE’s social-implementation track must use a domestically developed foundation model. Shisa.AI is now one of 21 listed developers whose models can meet that requirement, alongside NTT, NEC, Fujitsu, Preferred Networks and Rakuten.

Applicants can therefore choose Shisa.AI as the foundation-model partner behind their projects. The listing recognizes Shisa.AI not simply as an application or API provider, but as a company developing its own Japanese-focused foundation models in Japan.

Shisa.AI develops open models and translation and speech APIs optimized for Japanese and English, with particular attention to Japanese context, honorifics and cultural nuance. Its open-license models have surpassed 1.7 million cumulative downloads.

The company’s flagship speech-recognition model, shisa-asr-v0.94b, achieved the best adjusted SPREDS score (Japanese automatic-speech-recognition benchmark), outperforming significantly larger global models on character error rate.
