【アジア学院】8月1日開始のクラウドファンディングへ向け応援の輪が拡大！サポートファンディング第1号の誕生と、水俣の受け入れ先からのメッセージを公開

アジア・アフリカの農村リーダーが学ぶ「西日本研修」を支える寄付キャンペーン「隣人とやさしく生きる」。ともに支援を呼びかけるパートナーを継続募集中。

栃木県那須塩原市で、アジア・アフリカなどの農村地域から招いたコミュニティリーダーの育成を行う学校法人アジア学院は、2026年8月1日（土）よりクラウドファンディングプラットフォーム「Syncable」にて、夏の西日本研修寄付キャンペーン「隣人とやさしく生きる」を開始します。

本キャンペーンの開始に先立ち、共に支援を呼びかけていただく「サポートファンディングパートナー」の第1号として、大学生のプロジェクトが立ち上がりました。また、研修の重要な訪問先である熊本県水俣市より温かい応援メッセージが到着しましたので、キャンペーンの最新アップデートとしてお知らせいたします。

寄付キャンペーン「隣人とやさしく生きる」について

アジア学院の学生たち（農村コミュニティリーダー）が、教室を飛び出して広島・水俣・関西などを12日間にわたり巡り、平和、公害、多文化共生、有機農業などを現場から直接学ぶ「西日本研修」。彼らが自国に持ち帰り、地域社会に変化をもたらすための非常に重要なプログラムですが、昨今の物価高騰などの影響により、研修を継続・充実させるための資金が不足しています。

これを乗り越えるため、8月1日よりクラウドファンディングに挑戦します。そして現在、当キャンペーンの「子キャンペーン」としてご自身のページを立ち上げ、ご友人やSNSのフォロワー等に寄付を呼びかけてくださる「サポートファンディングパートナー」を募集しています。

現地からの声：水俣病公式確認から70年の節目に

西日本研修において、熊本県水俣市での受け入れを担ってくださっている「からたち」の大澤菜穂子様より、サポーターの声をお寄せいただきました。今年は水俣病の公式確認から70年の節目の年に当たります。

 「水俣でアジア学院の受け入れを始めて40年以上が経ちました。高齢になった両親に代わり、今は娘の私が受け入れを引き継いでいます。アジア学院のみなさんに現地・水俣で学んでもらう時、その後ろにいる、さらに多くの人たちに水俣を伝えていることを感じます。とても価値ある時間だと思っています。アジア学院が水俣を訪れてくれる限り、これからも受け入れを続けたいと思っています。」

サポートファンディング第1号誕生！学生団体からの力強い応援

同志社大学の国際ボランティアサークル「国際居住研究会」から生まれ、アジア学院の活動を支え社会へ広げる役割を担う「同志社アジア学院プロジェクト(duari)」。その代表を務める後藤めいさんが、今回のクラウドファンディングのサポートファンディングパートナー第一号となってくださいました。

後藤さんはアジア学院での滞在経験に加え、本年2月に当学院が主催したインドネシアの卒業生を訪ねるスタディツアーにも参加し、卒業生が現地で活躍する姿を直接その目で見てきました。

私は、アジア学院がこれまで大切にしてきた学びの質を、これからもずっと担保し続けてほしいと強く願っています。なぜなら、彼らが故郷に戻って社会に変化を生み出す可能性を、心から信じているからです。 資金不足を理由に、この貴重な研修が中止になったり縮小したりすることで、農村コミュニティリーダー達の可能性を閉ざすのは、もったいないことだと感じています。京都にいる私たち学生の力は小さなものかもしれません。しかし、私たちがこのサポートファンディングを立ち上げることで、一人でも多くの人にアジア学院の存在を知ってもらい、世界中で奮闘するリーダーたちを支える仲間を増やしたいと思い、挑戦を決めました。」

[Asian Rural Institute] The Circle of Support Expands for the Crowdfunding Campaign Starting August 1st! Announcing the First "Support Funding Partner" and a Message from our Host in Minamata.

The "Living Kindly with Neighbors" fundraising campaign supports the "Western Japan Study Tour" for rural leaders from Asia and Africa. We are continuously seeking partners to help us call for support.

The Asian Rural Institute (ARI), an educational institution based in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture, that trains community leaders invited from rural areas in Asia, Africa, and beyond, will launch its summer Western Japan Study Tour fundraising campaign, "Living Kindly with Neighbors," on the crowdfunding platform "Syncable" starting Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Ahead of the campaign's launch, a university student project has been established as our very first "Support Funding Partner" to help us call for donations. Additionally, we have received a warm message of support from Minamata City, Kumamoto Prefecture, a crucial destination on our study tour. We are pleased to share these as the latest campaign updates.

About the "Living Kindly with Neighbors" Fundraising Campaign

The "Western Japan Study Tour" takes ARI participants (rural community leaders) out of the classroom for a 12-day journey through Hiroshima, Minamata, and the Kansai region to learn firsthand about peace, pollution, multicultural coexistence, and organic farming. It is a highly important program that empowers them to bring back this knowledge to their home countries and create positive changes in their local communities. However, due to recent factors such as soaring prices, we are facing a shortage of funds to continue and enhance this training.

To overcome this challenge, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign on August 1st. We are currently seeking "Support Funding Partners" who are willing to set up their own personal sub-campaign pages and call for donations from their friends and SNS followers.

Voice from the Field: Marking the 70th Anniversary of the Official Recognition of Minamata Disease

We have received a supporter’s message from Ms. Nahoko Osawa of "Karatachi," who graciously hosts our participants during the Western Japan Study Tour in Minamata City, Kumamoto. This year marks the significant 70th anniversary since Minamata disease was officially recognized.

"More than 40 years have passed since we first began hosting participants from ARI here in Minamata. As my parents grew older, I stepped in to carry on their legacy. When the ARI participants come here to learn from Minamata, I feel that I'm not just teaching those who are present but also reaching the countless people standing behind them in their home communities. It is a deeply rewarding experience. As long as ARI continues to visit Minamata, I want to keep our doors open and welcome them."

The First Support Funding Partner is Born! Powerful Support from a Student Organization

The "Doshisha Asian Rural Institute Project (duari)" was born out of Doshisha University's international volunteer circle, the "Habitat Doshisha," and plays a vital role in supporting and spreading ARI's activities in society. Its representative, Ms. Mei Goto, has become the very first Support Funding Partner for this crowdfunding campaign.

In addition to her experience staying at ARI, Ms. Goto participated in an ARI-organized study tour to visit graduates in Indonesia this February, where she witnessed firsthand how alumni are thriving and making an impact in their local fields.

"Whenever I spend time with them at ARI, and as I watched the graduates thriving in Indonesia, there is something I always deeply realize. It is that they are learning and taking action 'for their communities and for the future of the earth.'

I strongly hope that ARI will continue to guarantee the high quality of learning it has always valued. This is because I truly believe in their potential to return to their hometowns and create change in society. It would be a profound loss if this precious training were canceled or scaled down due to a lack of funds, as it would close off the potential of these rural community leaders.

The power we students have here in Kyoto may be small. However, by launching this Support Funding campaign, we hope to let as many people as possible know about ARI's existence and expand the circle of allies supporting leaders striving around the world. This is why we decided to take on this challenge."
