Quaro: A New Sensory Hub in Tokyo Harajuku, Grand Opening February 11, 2026
A space that awakens the senses on Tokyo Harajuku Cat Street

Quaro, a new cultural coffee space, is set to make its grand debut on Harajuku’s iconic Cat Street on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Spanning four floors, Quaro transcends the traditional café concept; it is designed as a sanctuary to restore the senses and offer a unique flow of experience amidst the urban hustle. The name Quaro is a poetic blend of [Qua] from Quatro—representing four distinct experiences—and [Ro] from the Kanji for "filtering" (濾過), symbolizing the art of brewing.
B1 | Alchemy : Our foundation begins in the roastery, where Quaro Original Single Origin beans are masterfully roasted in-house. It is a private sanctuary where the raw bean is transformed into an art form.
1F | Flow : Facing Cat Street, the main floor captures the rhythm of the city. Experience our signature "Flow" through Quaro Special Blends and artisanal pastries.
2F | Resonance : Find your seat in our dedicated music bar. Here, high-fidelity sound resonates with a curated menu of non-alcoholic drinks and pastries, designed for deep relaxation and connection.
3F | Edition : Our top floor serves as a rotating gallery and pop-up space. "Edition" is a canvas for brand collaborations and artistic expressions, offering a new perspective with every visit.

The brand philosophy of Quaro is rooted in being "A space to momentarily pause and reopen the senses." It is architecturally structured to organically connect coffee, fragrance, light, sound, and art. As visitors move between floors, they experience a "sensory transition"—a natural shift in taste, scent concentration, light temperature, and acoustic layers.
Visualizing the ‘Moment of Sensory Shift’ – Logo Design by Yasuda Takahiro

The brand logo was crafted by Yasuda Takahiro, the key visual desinger of the Tokyo Marathon 2026. The triangular filter logo, centered around a vibrant orange, symbolizes 'Vitality' and 'Depth.' It visually captures the "moment of transition" when senses awaken. More than just a mark, the design represents the starting point of a sensory journey that comes alive during a brief pause in the city's rhythm.
< Comment from Yasuda Takahiro >
The VI design symbolically represents the process of filtration through gravity-driven extraction using an arrow motif. The gentle undulations at the top reflect the fluidity of coffee, the organic nature of the space, and the emotions of our guests. This inverted triangle creates a sense of tension and weightlessness against the ground, offering a feeling of openness. The logotype achieves a geometric yet warm, responsive aesthetic that avoids being purely mechanical.
Expanding Sensory Movement – Spatial Design by SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE

The spatial design of Quaro is led by Yoshida Ai of SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE, known for sensory projects like NOT A HOTEL and Blue Bottle Coffee Daikanyama, Yoshida brings a refined, sensory-driven approach to this project.
The design focuses on the harmony between organic and non-organic elements. Through the rhythm of flowing water, the play of light and shadow, and the tactile depth of materials, the space invites visitors to fully immerse themselves.
< Comment from SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE Yoshida Ai >
Inspired by the slopes of Cat Street, the architecture is designed as a series of "human-made strata." By integrating the concept of an "ORGANIC LANDSCAPE," we have unified architecture, interior design, installation, and art into a single, seamless spatial experience.
The design explores the coexistence of contrasting elements: artificial and natural, organic and inorganic. This deliberate "contrast" translates a refined, organic urban lifestyle into a polished physical space. The structure expands the pure flow of coffee "filtration"—the downward movement guided by gravity—into a holistic sensory journey that restores the urban soul.

< Comment from Media Façade Designer Baku Hashimoto >
The intention for the media facade was "slowness" and "darkness." Instead of vying for the attention of passersby with intense visuals, we chose the opposite approach. The pattern of light is generatively produced in response to surrounding environment, diffusing through louvers as soft reflections across the building. As evening falls, the brightness is dimmed to maintain a tranquil presence. The flowing gradients are inspired by the imagery of coffee filtration and downward movement. Rather than asserting itself, the light is designed to quietly breathe as a natural part of the Cat Street landscape.
