日本CFA協会、宝田めぐみ前副会長が女性初の会長に就任

一般社団法人日本CFA協会が、同協会のニュースレターで宝田めぐみ前副会長が会長に就任したことを発表

​一般社団法人日本CFA協会（以下、「同協会」）は、2019年12月10日（火）、同協会のニュースレターで宝田めぐみ前副会長が会長に就任したことを発表しました。今年10月末の社員総会および理事会で選任された宝田新会長の就任によって、同協会初の女性会長が誕生しました。宝田会長の任期は2019年11月から2020年10月末までの１年です。

日本CFA協会は、1999年にCFA協会（CFA Institute、本部：米国、シャーロッツビル）の日本支部として発足しました。設立20周年を迎えた今年、同協会会員約1200名のうち女性会員はまだ約9％ですが、今回発足した新体制の理事会においては、15名の理事のうち27％にあたる４名の理事に女性が選任されました。

宝田新会長は就任時の挨拶で「日本CFA協会が『所属するに値する団体』と思っていただけるよう、市場のための情報提供、グローバルで行われている議論の共有、規制当局へのエンゲージメントなどの活動に取り組み、金融業界における認知度の向上を目指し、当協会の長期的な発展の礎となる1年にする所存です。」と述べています。

宝田新会長は2009年にCFA資格（CFA協会認定証券アナリストの資格）を取得後、2011年、同協会の理事に就任しました。その後、ユニバーシティ、メンバーシップ、アドボカシーの各コミッティのバイスチェアやチェアなどを歴任し、2017年に副会長に就任しました。同協会会員、学生、行政関係者など、様々な立場の関係者を理解した幅広く豊富な経験と知見を有し、過去8年間において同協会の継続的な成長に貢献してきた実績を評価され、今年2019年に会長に選任されたものです。また現在、東洋証券投資調査部でシニアアナリストとして活躍しているほか、テレビ、新聞、雑誌等のメディアでも株式発掘への独特な目線での発言が注目されています。アナリストになる以前は、上場を目指す企業へのIPOコンサルタントを行うなど、資本市場での経験が豊富です。元々勤務していた東洋証券に復帰する以前は、メリルリンチ・プライベートバンクやメリルリンチ投資顧問でマーケティングオフィサーを務めました。青山学院大学大学院国際マネジメント研究科でMBAを取得。日本証券アナリスト協会検定会員（CMA）および国際公認投資アナリスト（CIIA）取得。

また、今回の日本での選任に先立ち、現在160を超える国と地域に約17万人の会員を有するCFA協会においても今年、マーガレット・フランクリンがCEOに就任し、72年の歴史上初の女性CEOが誕生しています。

Tokyo, Japan, December 20, 2019

CFA Society Japan, the professional body for investment professionals in Japan, named Megumi Takarada, CFA as the organisation’s new President of the Board of Directors.  Takarada becomes the first female President of the Society since its inception 20 years ago.  The Board of Directors now counts four female directors, out of fifteen members (27%).  An outstanding development for gender diversity, especially since only 9% of CFA charterholders in Japan are female.  This progress in Japan comes timely as CFA Institute, the global association which CFA Society Japan is a member society, also appointed Margaret Franklin, CFA as its first female President & CEO in its 72 years of operations.  It is the first time in the history of the global organisation that female leaders are occupying the positions of Chair of the global Board of Directors (Diane Nordin, CFA), Global President & CEO (Margaret Franklin, CFA), and President of the Board of Directors in Japan (Megumi Takarada, CFA).  

“I have been involved in different capacities with CFA Society Japan and CFA Institute since 2011.  I am very excited and honoured to lead the organisation forward in this new chapter by being elected as President of the Board of Directors”, said Megumi Takarada. “CFA Society Japan currently counts close to 1,200 members with diverse professional backgrounds and our CFA charterholders can play a vital role to support the continued internationalisation of the Japanese capital markets and financial institutions”.  Megumi Takarada has been a leader in the investment industry for 25 years, most recently as Senior Equity Analyst and Manager at Toyo Securities Co. Ltd.
