すみだアーバンデザイン・アイデアコンペにてiU1期生が特別賞を受賞

情報経営イノベーション専門職大学（東京都墨田区、学長 中村 伊知哉。以下、iU。https://www.i-u.ac.jp/）と、千葉大学の学生を対象としたこれからのすみだを考えるコンペ企画「すみだアーバンデザイン・アイデアコンペ」に出場し、最終審査で特別賞を受賞しました。

• すみだアーバンデザイン・アイデアコンペ（UDC）について

iUのキャンパスがある墨田区では「公・民・学」が連携するまちづくり組織として「すみだアーバンデザインセンター（Urban Design Center 略称：UDC）」（https://udcsumida.jp/）を立ち上げました。将来ビジョンの検討や都市空間のデザインマネジメント等のハード面、まちづくりの担い手育成や地域デザインプログラム等のソフト面、双方のアプローチから、総合的なまちづくりに取り組んでいます。今回iUおよび千葉大学のある墨田区では「大学のあるまちづくり」を推進するため、学生ならでは視点で課題を見つけ、都市・建築・ICTを絡めた複合的な課題解決策のコンペティション「すみだアーバンデザイン・アイデアコンペ」が開催されました。

 

• iU1期生が特別賞を受賞

iUでは、地域活性やICTを利活用したアイデアが11チームから応募となり、一次審査を経て最終審査へと進んだのは２チームとなりました。最終審査は、2021年2月27日に、iU墨田キャンパスで行われ、iU生のプランがいずれも入賞しました。
また、千葉大学の学生からも多数のアイデアが応募され、iU生、千葉大生ともに、学生ならではの視点に基づいた課題から解決策に、大きな期待を感じるものでした。

Students of the inaugral class of iU receive special award in Sumida Urban Design and Idea Competition

 

iU students participated in the Sumida Urban Design and Idea Competition, a competition project for students from the Professional University of Information and Management for Innovation (Sumida-ku, Tokyo, President: Ichiya Nakamura; hereinafter “iU”; http://www.i-u.ac.jp) and Chiba University to think about the future of Sumida, and they received a special award in the final screening.

 

• Sumida Urban Design and Idea Competition (UDC)

Sumida-ku, where the campus of iU is located, has established the Sumida Urban Design Center (UDC) (https://udcsumida.jp/) as an urban development organization for collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and academia. The UDC is working on comprehensive urban development both from tangible approaches, such as consideration of future vision and design management of urban space, and intangible approaches, such as training of leaders in urban development and community design programs. This time, to promote urban development where universities are located, Sumida-ku, where iU and Chiba University are located, held the Sumida Urban Design and Idea Competition to find solutions to complex issues through measures involving cities, architecture and ICT, by identifying issues from students’ unique perspective.

 

• Students of inaugural class of iU receive a special award

From iU, 11 teams submitted their ideas for regional revitalization and ICT utilization, and two teams passed the first screening and progressed to the final screening. The final screening was held at the Sumida Campus of iU on February 27, 2021, and both plans of the students of iU received awards.

The students of Chiba University also submitted many ideas, and we have great expectations for the solutions to issues based on the unique perspectives of students from both iU and Chiba University.
