おもしろい未来をみんなでつくるラボ「B Lab Adelaide」を設置　海外2拠点目はオーストラリア アデレード

B Lab 情報経営イノベーション専門職大学イノベーション研究所（東京都墨田区、所長 石戸奈々子。以下、B Lab）は、B Lab海外２拠点目となる「B Lab Adelaide」をオーストラリア南オーストラリア州の州都アデレードに設置します。B Labは海外展開として既にB Lab Singaporeを設置しシンガポールに進出する研究員や企業の交流プラットフォームやマッチングの機会を提供していますが、日本やシンガポールで培ってきた知見を活かし、アデレードでも活動を本格化します。

• B Lab Adelaide概要

B Lab Adelaideは、Makerspace Adelaideを拠点に、メーカー、ハッカー、クリエイティブなグループや個人が集まり、製作、創造、教育、学習、共同作業を行う活気あるプラットフォームを構築します。研究員にはツールや機材、またメイカーコミュニティへのアクセスを提供し、イノベーションと発明の可能性を探ります。また、ワークショップ、講演、イベントを開催し、日本の研究者や学生がオーストラリアのメーカー、発明家、起業家と肩を並べて多くのコラボレーションを行い、日本とオーストラリアの新しいビジネスチャンスを呼び起こします。研究員とメーカーコミュニティの英知を結集し、アイデアを実装することを目標に、B Lab Adelaideの活動を開始します。B Lab Adelaideのオーガナイザーには、iU専任教員 Adrian David Cheok教授が就任。

私はオーストラリアのアデレードで生まれましたが、人生の約半分は日本で暮らしています。ニコラ・テスラのように、多くの日本の研究者がオーストラリアの研究者と協力して、アデレードと東京を未来につなぐ、最も素晴らしい技術、ソフトウェア、サービス、企業を発明してくれることを願っています。

 

• B Labの概要

Beyond, Borderless, Breakthroughの頭文字をとった「B Lab」は、研究所と銘打ちながら、世界中の大学・研究所、地域、人材をつなぎ、多くの人の得意技や知見を融合させ、新しい技術、サービス、コンテンツ、ビジネス、社会を生みだす参加型プラットフォームです。テクノロジー開発、社会課題解決、新サービス創出などスコープは広いですが、共通項は社会実装で、みんなでつくるということ。お父さんもお母さんもおばちゃんも子どももみんな研究員。Lifelong Seekerになり、第2の研究員名刺を持ちます。ソーシャルで、オープンで、参加型で、ユーザーふくめ全ての人がつながり新しい社会を構築し、課題、アイディア、技術、おカネ、スキル、人をマッチングさせ、小さな創造から大きな創造までおもしろい未来をみんなでつくることを目指します。

Establishment of B Lab Adelaide

Adelaide Australia becomes the second overseas site for B Lab

 

B Lab (Innovation Research Lab, iU, Professional University of Information and Management for Innovation) (Sumida-ku, Tokyo, Head: Nanako Ishido; hereinafter “B Lab”) announced the opening of its second overseas site “B Lab Adelaide” in Adelaide Australia. B Lab established its first overseas site “B Lab Singapore” to provide an exchange and matchmaking platform for researchers and companies entering Singapore. Utilizing the knowledge it has cultivated in Japan and Singapore, B Lab Adelaide will bring together a vibrant mix of makers, hackers, creative groups and individuals to make, create, teach, learn and collaborate.

 

• About B Lab Adelaide

B Lab Adelaide will provide access to tools, equipment, a community of like-minded makers, exploring the possibilities of innovation and invention. Moreover, B Lab Adelaide will offer workshops, speakers and special events, and allow Japanese researchers and students to work side by side and make many collaborations with Australian makers, inventors, and entrepreneurs, and spark new business opportunities in Japan and Australia. Cultivating a space of opportunity and possibilities for the maker community, B Lab Adelaide and the wisdom of the maker community will become a vital step in the process of transforming ideas into reality. Professor Adrian David Cheok from iU has been appointed as B Lab Adelaide’s organizer.

 

• A message from B Lab organizer

I was born in Adelaide, Australia, but have lived about half my life in Japan. Like Nikola Tesla I hope many Japanese researchers can work with Australian researchers to invent the most amazing technologies, software, services, and companies which will bridge Adelaide and Tokyo into the future!

The “B” in B Lab stands for “Beyond, Borderless, Breakthrough.” With “Lab” in its name, B Lab is a participatory platform that connects universities, research labs, regions, and human resources across the world, fusing together the talents and knowledge of many people to create new technology, services, content, business, and societies.
